“As I Lay Me Down”

1–2 minutes

To read

As I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
Angels East and West, hold back the winds of war and grief,
Angels North and South, bring our tired hearts some peace.

Oh Father—
walk with us through bad times and the good,
Watch over your children, especially those in the hood.

Lord, so many of us have lost our way,
Doing wrong so long, it’s like we forgot how to pray.
We’re just children who act grown,
Raised by pain, not love—learning hard truths alone.
