Silent Reflection of a Broken Heart 27…

1–2 minutes

To read

I’m trying to heal, quietly,
without disturbing the quiet lives of others,
my thoughts a chorus of broken words
from broken lovers.

You say you don’t know why
you want to be with me—
it’s just the times, you said,
and we’re far from finding resolution.

Our arguments roll like thunder,
words striking like lightning,
until silence swallows our hearts,
and we hide in the dark.

We find shelter in ourselves,
still far from understanding,
lost in the storm of each other,
seeking cover alone.
